Kaohsiung International Airport (IATA: KHH, ICAO: RCKH), also known as Kaohsiung Siaogang Airport for the Siaogang District where it is located, is a medium-sized commercial airport in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Kaohsiung International airport is the second busiest Taiwanese airport, after Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, in passenger movement.
Airbus has launched the Sharklet retrofit programme for in-service A320 Family aircraft. This option will be available in 2015. Operators of older in-service A320 Family aircraft will thus be able to benefit from the significant cost savings and performance improvements which the Sharklets are already delivering on new-build aircraft.This retrofit includes reinforcing the wing structure and adding the Sharklet wingtip device. As part of the upgrade, the retrofit will lengthen the aircraft’s service life and thus maximise the operators’ return on investment for the Sharklet retrofit.Operators of Sharklet retrofitted aircraft will benefit from a reduction in fuel costs by up to four per cent and increased mission range by up to 100 nautical miles. Over 4,000 A320 Family in-service aircraft are eligible to be retrofitted with Sharklets and Airbus has already secured commitments from airlines for around 200 shipsets. Airbus will offer the retrofit initially for A320 and A319 models and will evaluate a retrofit for the A321 at a later stage. All members of the A320neo Family will be fitted with Sharklets as standard. The A320neo will enter into service in October 2015.The A320 Family is the world’s best-selling and most modern single aisle aircraft Family. To date, over 9,900 A320 Family aircraft have been ordered and over 5,700 delivered to more than 388 customers and operators worldwide. With proven reliability and extended servicing periods, the A320 Family has the lowest operating costs of any single-aisle aircraft.

Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd. (operating as Scoot) is a Singaporean low-cost long-haul airline owned by Singapore Airlines through its subsidiary Budget Aviation Holdings. It launched flights in June 2012 on medium and long-haul routes from Singapore, predominantly to China and India. Initially, Scoot's fleet consisted of Boeing 777 aircraft obtained from Singapore Airlines. The airline began to transition its fleet to Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft from 2015. On 25 July 2017, Tigerair was officially merged into Scoot using Tigerair's air operator's certificate (AOC) but retaining the 'Scoot' brand. With the change of AOC, the airline's IATA code was changed from TZ to TR, previously used by Tigerair. Its head office is at Singapore Changi Airport. Scoot's Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft offers a single-class economy seating of 144 and 180 seats respectively. Changi Airport has four main passenger terminals arranged in an elongated inverted 'U' shape. Currently, the airport has a designed total annual handling capacity of 66 million passengers.
Terminal 1, opened in 1981, is located at the northern end.
Terminal 2, opened in 1990, is located to the eastern end.
Terminal 3, opened in 2008, is located to the western end.
Terminal 4, opened on 31 October 2017, is located on the southern side, near the site of the former budget terminal.
There is also a privately run luxury terminal called the JetQuay CIP Terminal. It is similar to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal at Frankfurt Airport, but is open to all passengers travelling in all classes on all airlines with an access fee.
Terminal 5 is set to be ready in the mid 2020s. It is expected to handle 50 million passenger movements per annum. The airport terminal structure is projected to be larger than all the previous terminals combined. It will be built on reclaimed land to the east of the present terminals.
Jewel Changi Airport, set to open in early 2019, is a multi-use structure interconnecting Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Part of this project will help expand Terminal 1 to handle 28 million passengers per year.

Taipei 101 celebrates the arrival of 2018 with the longest fireworks performance in its history. TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan’s iconic tower, Taipei 101 marked the entrance of a new year with an extravagant fireworks display, a massive crowd of revelers and a festive spirit in the air.
The pyrotechnic extravaganza at Taipei 101 was the longest in the tower's history. A six-minute fireworks display was combined with 140,000 LED lights covering the tower's exterior from the 35th floor and going all the way up to the 90th.
With the theme for this year’s light and fireworks show of "Happy Together" (幸福共好), the New Year’s display conveys a hopeful message that happiness and joy will find everyone over the next 365 days.
One notable difference of this year's show was the much greater prominence of the light display compared to previous years. The increased use of the exterior light display was not only to enhance the exciting atmosphere of the show, but also to make the celebrations more environmentally friendly.
The light and fireworks show, along with the New Year’s Eve countdown party at Taipei City Hall Square has attracted millions of people over the years, both locals and overseas visitors who flock from around the world to join in the countdown celebrations.
